A friend referred me to Dr. Behne and I trusted her very high praise. If I could rate them 10 Stars I would. Check-in staff was pleasant and the process quick and easy. I was in the waiting room just a few minutes. Rosa, the nurse assistant handled the preliminaries-my weight, BP and patient information. She is amazing at her job! Professional and personable. She is the best NA I have ever met. Rosa asked me to stay dressed and seated in a chair until Dr. Behne saw me, which again, was just a few minutes wait. This was a great way to start my first visit- fully dressed, comfortable and, with a doctor who was on time. Dr. Behne came in, introduced himself, sat down and we talked like he had all the time in the world. He was casual, laid back and professional. He clearly answered all my questions. Dr. Behne is the best with the best staff.

UPDATE:
I was contacted by Mrs. Keisha, the office manager at Women's Health Care Affiliates. Ms. Keisha informed me that she was unaware of the abrupt medical abandonment that I experienced. Ms. Keisha has been a great advocate, both for Women's Health Care Affiliates and myself. Unfortunately, despite all her efforts, Many other OB offices around Houston have cited that I’m too far along and they also can not accept me.
This situation has caused a great amount of stress, anxiety, and depression in the final days of my pregnancy. I do not trust that my health or the health of my unborn baby will be properly cared for at this clinic. I will take my insurance company's advice and go to the nearest ER when I go into labor. I also feel as if the clinic is trying to find a way to make it appear that the abrupt Dismissal and abandonment was somehow my fault or my decision to leave their care, which I want to make very clear that it was NOT!
I do want to thank Mrs. Keisha for her communication and assistance in trying to resolve this issue.

Original:
I am writing to formally complain about the unexpected and distressing medical abandonment I experienced during the final month of my pregnancy. This situation has caused me significant stress, anxiety, and fear for my unborn child due to the poor care I received from Dr Lyn's office.

On July 31, 2024, I had a growth ultrasound with Dr. Heidi Lyn Stern, which revealed that my baby was nearly three weeks behind in growth. Dr. Lyn assured us that she would monitor the situation and conduct further tests if needed. I was scheduled to see her again on August 13, 2024, but on August 9th, I received a call informing me that my insurance had changed and that I would need to switch it back to United Healthcare to continue care.

Despite my efforts to resolve the insurance issue and obtain an out-of-network referral, your office refused to complete the necessary paperwork, citing concerns about possibly not receiving payment from Community Health Choice. I was abruptly told to find another OBGYN, despite being so far along in my pregnancy. This refusal left me scrambling to find alternative care, causing unnecessary emotional and financial stress.

Furthermore, I encountered rude and unprofessional behavior from your staff, particularly from Emma, who hung up on me and my insurance representative multiple times. This treatment is unacceptable and has further eroded my confidence in your office.

Under Texas state law, medical abandonment occurs when a healthcare provider terminates the physician-patient relationship without reasonable notice or a reasonable excuse, and without giving the patient an opportunity to find a qualified replacement care provider. This law also states that it is not advisable to dismiss a patient who is beyond the 28th week of the pregnancy. The patient needs to continue prenatal care and other obstetricians may not accept the patient this late in the pregnancy. After the 28th week, the physician will likely need to care for the patient through the six-week postpartum visit.
Additionally, if the patient was dismissed early in the pregnancy and you are on call when the patient shows up in labor and delivery, the physician must see the patient. The actions of your office clearly meet this definition, and I believe that my rights as a patient have been violated.

I respectfully request that you investigate this matter thoroughly and take the necessary steps to address the issues outlined in this complaint. I also request a formal WRITTEN response sent BY MAIL to my address on file explaining the rationale behind your office’s actions, including the refusal to accept the out-of-network referral and the patient abandonment. As I will be escalating this unfortunately situation higher. I trust that you will take this complaint seriously and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

My doctor was Dr. Gianotti. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Dr. Gianotti. I have had hormonal issues since I was 12 but no other doctor ever took a moment to listen to me about it. Come to find out I had a diagnosis with my hormonal issues that was more than what “birth-control” could fix. I knew something was wrong for years and yet no other doctor was willing to draw blood from me. Dr. Gianotti listened to every single thing that I had to say and has provided me reassurance that I’ve needed over the past decade….something was wrong and he listened and that’s all I need from a doctor. I appreciate everyone… staff included, I couldn’t recommend this doctor more for someone who really needed answers on there feminine issues. I want to give the most sincere, thank you for the first time I have answers and it’s thanks to this office and this doctor. I’m literally in tears at the fact I have a diagnosis.

Love Dr. Dalati, great doctor. I have NEVER waited long for an appointment. He delivered my twins, was very attentive to all questions, even post twins. Office is always clean, staff is friendly. Highly recommend.

Update:

If lines cuts off, they don’t call you back and you have to wait again for 10 minutes to get someone to answer. They don’t think about the customer service side. I don’t like practices that take their patients for granted and I feel slowly I have a feeling it’s becoming that. Also long wait to be seen.

The staff looks like they are tired or just not engaged. Hope they revisit all these points. It was not like this a few years back.

Old: Fast processing time for Dr. Gionatti. Staff is friendly and professional. Just moved to area and I am glad I found this practice. Dr. Marco is great!

I honestly think the only reason this practice is rated so highly is because MOST of the doctors are great. (Or they were a few years ago)

The 1.5+ hr wait you have to do every single appointment however is out of control. For any kind of appointment (OB or GYN), I have never had less than a 1.5 hour wait to see the doctor. I’m currently writing this review at 1126 while still waiting to see a doctor for my 1020 appointment.

I’ve sat naked on the table for at least 40 minutes. If you love to waste your day sitting in an office then this place is great.

I also had a few issues with how things were handled with my last birth, but honestly the wait times are biggest negative

Edited on 1/30/24: at the time of writing the previous review, my concerns were not addressed nor taken seriously. I continued to call and voice my health concerns and told to try a myriad of over the counter options (all of which were just to mask my symptoms and not actually figure out the cause of those symptoms). I made a new appointment with a different office who had never met me. They got me in and out in 45 minutes, immediately addressed my problem (just from visual examination) and truly listened to my concerns.

Again, this office is really a waste of time and your concerns are not taken seriously.

Multiple bad experiences at this establishment. Charge $50 for a phone call to get the attention of the doctor. Doctor forgot to logout of my chart and never sent off my birth control prescription. They were completely at fault yet I still had to pay. Was outside in lobby when they texted me they were closing down the office. Came the next day to a “rescheduled appointment” meaning they called me that morning and said I can come in. Went there a little late due to weather/traffic. Wasn’t seen for the 2nd day in an row and was rescheduled for yet another appointment. Very disappointing. Very unethical. Inconsiderate.
